Accessibility Statement

1. Our Commitment

We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across our public marketing pages, authenticated dashboards, and embedded widgets. WCAG 2.1 AA is the de-facto international baseline cited by the United States Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III, the European Accessibility Act (EAA, in force June 28, 2025), the United Kingdom Equality Act 2010, and the Accessible British Columbia Act, 2021.

Accessibility is an ongoing program, not a one-time project. We aim to surface what is working, what is not, and what we are doing about it — rather than claim perfect conformance.

2. Current Conformance Status

As of May 18, 2026, 4Planet is in partial conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA. Most of the site conforms, but the following known gaps are under active remediation:

• Donation form error semantics. Payment errors in the donation flow do not yet announce via aria-live; we are adding role="alert", aria-invalid, and aria-describedby bindings.
• Embedded widget keyboard activation. The floating-badge widget responds to mouse clicks but not yet to Enter/Space key activation. A fix is in flight.
• Color contrast tokens. A small number of muted-text placements on cream backgrounds fall below the 4.5:1 contrast ratio. We are re-deriving the affected color tokens.
• Authenticated dashboards. Our automated accessibility tests cover the public marketing surface; expanded coverage of the partner/charity/admin dashboards is the next milestone.

None of these gaps prevents access to core functions, but we acknowledge they fall short of full AA conformance.

4. How We Test

We combine automated and manual testing on every change:

• Automated: @axe-core/playwright runs against representative public pages in continuous integration on every pull request. Lighthouse CI tracks accessibility scores over time.
• Manual: keyboard-only navigation, screen-reader spot checks (VoiceOver, NVDA), and motion-reduction verification.
• Color contrast: design tokens are checked against WCAG contrast ratios during design system updates.
• Reduced motion: we honor the prefers-reduced-motion media query across animations and widgets.

5. Compatibility

4Planet is designed to be compatible with current versions of the major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) on desktop and mobile, and with major assistive technologies including screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS, TalkBack), screen magnification, and voice control. Compatibility with browser versions older than two major releases is not guaranteed.

6. Alternative Access

If you encounter a barrier that prevents you from completing a task on 4planet.io — including signing up, donating, or managing a charity or partner account — please contact us. We will provide an alternative means to complete the task and will use your report to prioritize a fix.

7. Feedback and Complaints

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of 4planet.io. If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you may also file a complaint with the relevant regulatory body in your jurisdiction (for example, the U.S. Department of Justice for ADA matters, or your national equality body in the European Union and United Kingdom).
