DMCA & Copyright Policy
Version 2026-05-18
1585113 B.C. Ltd. (doing business as “4Planet”) respects the intellectual-property rights of others and expects users of https://4planet.io to do the same. This page describes how to submit a notice of copyright infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. §512, how we respond, and how to file a counter-notice. We respond to corresponding requests under Canadian, EU, and UK copyright law.
1. Designated Agent
Send DMCA takedown notices and counter-notices to our designated agent:
DMCA Agentc/o 1585113 B.C. Ltd. (DBA 4Planet)
587 Curtis Rd, Kelowna, BC V1V 2G6, Canada
Email: dmca@4planet.io
Notices served on the agent above are deemed received at the time of receipt; postal notices are deemed received three (3) business days after posting. We will respond to a properly formed notice expeditiously regardless of formal Copyright Office directory listing.
2. Submitting a DMCA Takedown Notice
To submit a valid DMCA takedown notice, your communication must include all of the following (17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3)(A)):
- A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed;
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple works at a single online site are covered by a single notice, a representative list of such works;
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material (a direct URL is best);
- Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact the complaining party, such as an address, telephone number, and (if available) an email address;
- A statement that the complaining party has a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
You may use the form below or send the same information by email or postal mail to the designated agent. Incomplete notices may delay or prevent action.
3. Misrepresentations — §512(f)
Under 17 U.S.C. §512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing — or that material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification — may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees, incurred by the alleged infringer, by any copyright owner or its authorized licensee, or by 4Planet. Do not file a DMCA notice unless you have a good-faith basis to believe the material is infringing.
4. Counter-Notification
If you believe your material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification under 17 U.S.C. §512(g)(3). Your counter-notification must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature;
- Identification of the material that was removed or disabled and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or disabled;
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification;
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of Federal District Court for the judicial district in which the address is located (or, if your address is outside the United States, for any judicial district in which 4Planet may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original DMCA notice or an agent of that person.
On receipt of a valid counter-notification, we will forward it to the original complainant and may restore the removed material after 10 business days unless the complainant notifies us that they have filed an action seeking a court order to restrain the alleged infringer.
5. Repeat-Infringer Policy
In accordance with 17 U.S.C. §512(i)(1)(A), we have adopted and reasonably implement a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers. We may also terminate accounts on a single notice for sufficiently egregious infringement.
