Constructing a Future
February 23, 2026

NDAHIMANA Elias came from a poor family. He dropped out of high school in senior 3, because his family was unable to pay the school fees. He started doing casual work for his parents to help earn money for his family. One day at church Elias heard that the Mwananshuti Vocational Training Center in Bugesera was accepting new students for training. Elias visited the school to get more information and to learn about the requirements for attending. After talking to the school management, it was decided that Elias could attend the school for free. Elias studied construction and masonry at Mwananshuti. Upon graduation, Elias got a job doing construction at the Kigali International Airport in Bugesera. After people saw how good of a job Elias was doing, he got hired at a new company in Gasabo District, earning 12000 Rwandan Francs per day. Elias has gained many skills and much experience from his jobs. With the money he earned, Elias was able to purchase pigs and goats for his family. The pigs and goats provide manure for his family's garden, which helps them to grow food.
