Friends Peace House: Skills for a Better Future
February 22, 2026
Friends Peace House, also known as Urugorw’Amahoro, meaning The Home of Peace, was founded in 2000 to promote peace, unity, and reconciliation in Rwanda. Over the years, vocational training has become one of the most powerful ways we transform lives.
We operate two campuses. In Kicukiro District, we provide training in Culinary Arts, Hairdressing, and Automobile Repair and Maintenance. In Bugesera District, we offer Masonry and Tailoring.
These programs give young people practical, hands on skills that respond to real market needs. Beyond technical training, students also gain confidence, discipline, and basic entrepreneurship knowledge that prepares them to earn a living.
Many of the young people who join us come with uncertainty about their future. When they graduate, they leave with skills, direction, and renewed hope. Some secure employment, while others start their own small businesses and begin supporting their families.
At Friends Peace House, vocational training is not just about learning a trade. It is about restoring dignity, creating opportunity, and building a stronger and more peaceful community.
