Despite growing awareness, millions of people still feel alone in their mental health journey. 1 in 3 Canadians will be affected by mental illness in their lifetime, and roughly 75% of the ~4,000 Canadians who die by suicide each year are men — most of whom never asked for help. The crisis is sharpest among those trained to carry the weight for everyone else: nearly 1 in 2 Canadian first responders show signs of a mental health disorder, over four times the rate of the general population, and 58% of Canadian Armed Forces members and veterans will experience a mental disorder in their lifetime.
We believe the problem isn't just a lack of services — it's a lack of connection. Stigma still silences people, especially men, veterans, and first responders, and traditional awareness campaigns don't reach them where they are. Human-to-human connection does.

"Run to people, not past them."
Sach In Motion believes mental health change happens through human connection, not campaigns. When one person moves publicly through their pain, it gives others permission to face their own — and to act.
Inputs: Sachin's lived experience as a retired 20-year CBSA officer and veteran; endurance runs and community events; storytelling and media content.
Activities: We run through communities, not around them — face-to-face conversations, community runs, the Always Forward Run Club, The Long Run podcast, speaking engagements, and strategic investment in high-leverage mental health organizations.
Outputs: Thousands of direct conversations; people joining runs and community events; millions reached through content that functions as a national funnel for change.
Outcomes: People who were suffering in silence reach out, open up, and seek help. Individuals inspired by the mission launch their own fundraisers and movements (Operation Cenotaph, Run4Sobriety, and others).
Impact: A culture where struggling people — especially men, veterans, and first responders — know they aren't alone, and a self-multiplying movement: every dollar invested and every story told generates downstream action we don't control but did inspire. $412,000+ in confirmed downstream funds traces back to one man, running.
Everything starts with what's real: Sachin's 20 years as a CBSA officer, his own journey through depression, anxiety, and recovery, and the credibility that comes from having lived the problem. Add to that endurance runs, community events, storytelling and media content, and strategically deployed funds — these are the raw materials of the mission.
We run through communities, not around them. Face-to-face conversations on the road, community runs anyone can join, the Always Forward Run Club in Vancouver, The Long Run podcast, speaking engagements in workplaces and schools, and strategic investment in high-leverage mental health organizations. Every activity is built around human connection.
5,000+ direct conversations about mental health. 1,000+ people running or walking alongside the mission. Over 3 million content views functioning as a national funnel — drawing people from a video on their phone into a real conversation, a community run, or a decision to reach out.
People who were suffering in silence reach out, open up, and seek help — dozens have contacted us directly through our content to share their story or ask for support. And the mission multiplies: individuals inspired by Sachin's example launch their own runs, fundraisers, and movements, including Operation Cenotaph and Run4Sobriety.
The long-term impact is a culture where struggling people — especially men, veterans, and first responders — know they aren't alone. The proof it's working: $412,000+ in confirmed downstream funds raised by people and organizations our mission inspired or invested in. Every dollar and every story generates action we don't control, but did set in motion.
We run through communities, not around them. Every kilometre is an invitation — residents join the run, share their stories, and have conversations they've never had before.
Sachin's story — 20 years in uniform, the dark years, the recovery — gives others permission to face their own. Authenticity is the strategy; everything else follows from it.
3 million+ views aren't the goal — they're the top of a funnel that ends in a real conversation, a community run, or someone finally asking for help.
We deploy funds into high-leverage organizations rather than simply donating. $7,500 invested in the Wounded Warriors BC Run helped generate $283,000 — a 37:1 return.
Our strongest outcome is when someone else starts running. Operation Cenotaph and Run4Sobriety both began with individuals inspired by Sachin's example.
The Always Forward Run Club, The Long Run podcast, the Always Forward Method program, and community events turn a moment of inspiration into ongoing belonging.
Workplaces, police departments, veteran communities, endurance sport — we bring the conversation to the rooms where men are least likely to start it themselves.
